B&W locomotive photo of the J. W. Boker built in 1875 by the Baldwin Locomotive Works of Philadelphia, PA for use on the Virginia & Truckee RR. It was named after the railroad's master mechanic John William Boker. The 2-4-0 engine was unique in that not many other engine had that same wheel arrangement. #21 is currently on display at the California State Railroad Museum. My Dad photographed the engine at the 1939 NY World's Fair.
